SANTA BARBARA, CA – The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) today announced the addition of Justin Fareed to the esteemed “Young Gun” status, the highest level of the committee’s program. To be named a Young Gun, candidates must surpass benchmarks in fundraising, communications, and campaign organization that establish a path to victory on Election Day.

“There is an unprecedented surge of momentum behind Justin Fareed’s candidacy for Congress,” said Austin Stukins, Fareed’s campaign manager. “His elevation to ‘Young Gun’ status is further recognition of his viability to serve as a powerful voice for a new generation of leadership. It also highlights Justin’s focus on bi-partisan solutions for families and putting people above politics.”

A poll released in July showed Fareed and his opponent, freshman Rep. Salud Carbajal, in a statistically tied race. In the poll, Carbajal had a favorable/unfavorable rating of only 44/36 percent, compared to Fareed’s 44/28 percent).

In a press release, NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers praised Fareed and the other inductees of the program, thanking them for their strength and resilience in leading the country into the future.

“We have no shortage of compelling candidates in our Young Guns program,” Stivers said. “I’m thrilled to support this impressive, diverse group and look forward to welcoming them to Congress, where we can continue working to protect our communities and ease Americans’ cost of living.”
