SANTA BARBARA, CA – Today, the National Border Patrol Council announced its endorsement of Justin Fareed for Congress in California’s 24th Congressional District. Upon receiving the endorsement, Justin remarked, “I am humbled to have the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council, whose members are the first line of defense along our borders and at our ports of entry. Keeping our communities safe starts with them, and in Congress I will fight to make sure these agents have the equipment, infrastructure, and personnel they need to keep us safe.”
The National Border Patrol Council represents approximately 15,000 Border Patrol agents. “Justin understands that there are few issues as important as the security of our borders. The safety of our families and the strength of our economy depend on it,” said Brandon Judd, National Border Patrol Council President. “We know that Justin will be an unwavering advocate for rank-and-file Border Patrol agents in Congress, for increasing border security, and for enforcing the rule of law. The National Border Patrol Council is pleased to endorse him in California’s 24th Congressional District.”
In July, Justin spent a day with Border Patrol agents at the Imperial Beach station, which is responsible for patrolling 5.5 miles of border between the San Ysidro Port of Entry and the Pacific Ocean. He also toured that section of the border with NBPC representatives. NBPC Director of Legislative & Political Affairs Christopher Harris said, “When Justin spent a day with us at the border, it was clear he wasn’t just there for a photo op. He was there in order to experience what our agents encounter on a daily basis, to see our infrastructure and staffing needs, and to listen to our concerns and what we need from Congress to be able to do our jobs. He is committed to increasing border security, to reforming and creating a compassionate, fair and merit-based immigration system, and to being a voice for Border Patrol agents in Congress. We are confident that Justin will bring a new generation of leadership to Washington.”
Justin Fareed is a candidate for California’s 24th Congressional District. He is also President of a local small business, Pro Band Sports Industries and a third-generation cattle rancher. Justin is a graduate of UCLA and has worked for a senior member of Congress; handling various matters pertaining to foreign relations, small business, agriculture, drafting and coordinating the movement of legislation, and building bi-partisan consensus on Capitol Hill.
